Pulled from stacy’s fantastic Restless EP, It’s Not Clever is a dark and cloudy hip hop groove.

A looped piano clip and percussion make the foundation of this but what effectively creates the mood and evokes emotion is the use of vocal samples. Bent, distorted, and skipped vocal clips add a whole new layer of depth to the track.

The song has a constant dark and gloomy feel to it and subtle elements enhance that mood. A lot of small details like timing and certain percussive elements show the care put in to making this track and it certainly pays off.
