Marissa’s dropped another single from her upcoming album, Sleepwalking, and this one feels a bit more organic and raw.
Lonely keys are accompanied by soft, underlying synths that have this ghost-like presence as Marissa’s stunning voice holds it all together. Home feels a bit more stripped down than her previous tracks, which is a welcome addition as this song seems to focus more on the organic tones from the piano and her vocals as opposed to the synth heavy, atmospheric pieces. In either case, this song, along with her others, are stunning and, as always, the vocal harmonies on this track are flawless and beautiful.
At a couple points in this song, Marissa heart brokenly sings, “I can’t make you love me,” but the reality is that I’m already in love with her and everything she does, and I’m sure a lot of us are.
